Dessau, Allemagne

The Dessau biogas facility is located in Germany, in Land Saxony-Anhalt. It produces biogas, making it possible to produce electricity and heat, as well as biomethane, from the fermentation of green waste.

Project description

Commissioned in November 2014, the Dessau biogas facility operates on the principle of dual recovery: it has a 550 kWe cogeneration unit that produces electricity (directly sold to the grid) and heat (used internally), as well as scrubbing module working with the water washing technology capable of producing 700 Nm3/h of biomethane directly fed into the natural gas network.

The facility’s activity helps treat 60,000 tonnes of waste per year, i.e. the electricity consumption of 6,200 homes.
