Station de Château-Gontier sur Mayenne
Since 2018, the Pays de Château-Gontier biogas facility has recovered organic materials generated locally by farms, food industries or the community, and supplies green electricity to the equivalent of 1,706 homes.
Project description
Biogaz du Pays de Château-Gontier currently produces electricity and heat through cogeneration. In 2021, the unit will also produce biomethane injected into the GRDF natural gas distribution network.
Evergaz built an NGV and Bio NGV station open to the public in direct proximity to the biogas facility, making it possible to supply the vehicles of the Pays de Château-Gontier community of municipalities and the lorries of the Breger transport company with green fuel.
Users can choose between NGV – natural gas for Vehicles from the gas network – or Bio NGV – biomethane from the anaerobic digestion of waste.
The fuel distributed is in compressed form (CNG or BioCNG).
